McQuarrie Creek Trail is a recreation path exploring the mountain ridge high above the community of Trail BC in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. The hiking trail provides views overlooking West Trail and the Columbia River.
The moderate hike climbs slowly along a pebbled and hard packed earthy trail leading to a peak where there is a Canadian Flag flying in the wind. It should take 60-90 minutes hiking one way to reach the flag. The McQuarrie Creek Trail is one of many hikes in the region that are marked with Canadian Flags.
From the trailhead the hiking adventure begins by climbing uphill following the banks of McQuarrie Creek. Along some sections of the trail are exposed tree roots and loose rocks. Watch your footing.
The trail eventually comes to a junction. A right takes the trail along a ridge connecting to the Miral Heights Trail which ends at Albert Road in the Miral Heights Subdivision. A left loops back to the Canadian Flag and then to a water tower.
From the top of the McQuarrie Creek Trail where the Canadian Flag flies there are far reaching views seeing as far as Warfield and Rossland on a clear day.
