Rossland, BC is a year-round mountain community located on the lower slopes of the Rossland Range which is a sub range of the Monashee Mountain Range. The high alpine community is situated just north of the Canada/US Border in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada.

Many of the stores and shops on main street Rossland operate from heritage buildings dating back to the early Gold Rush Days. In total there are 29 heritage buildings from the 1900s in Rossland including the Bank of Montreal building (1900), Rossland Grocery (1897) and Rossland's Courthouse (1901).

Some of the services and amenities important to travelers located in the community of Rossland, British Columbia, Canada include some restaurants, pubs, post office, internet, accommodations, tours, real estate, gift stores, retail shops, grocery store, art galleries and banks.

Situated in the mountains at an elevation of 1023 metres (3356 feet), the community of Rossland is a popular year round recreation destination. Some of the summer activities enjoyed include golfing, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, backpacking, sightseeing, canoeing, swimming, fishing, dirt biking and camping.

During the winter, being a mountain community, there are plenty of winter activities to enjoy in Rossland including downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, ice fishing, heli skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and cat skiing. Red Mountain is the ski and snowboard hill located minutes from downtown.

Mountain biking is big here! The surrounding mountain ranges and forests provide over 150+ kilometres of good downhill and technical mountain biking trail opportunities. The mountain biking trail network consists of, mostly, single track and old gravel access roads. All very well signed and maintained.

Some of the long haul mountain biking trails, located outside of Rossland on the Cascade Highway, are also enjoyed by hikers and horseback riders like the Seven Summit Trail and the Dewdney Trail.

The Nancy Greene Provincial Park located north of Rossland is a nearby lake destination visited during the summer months. Closer to Rossland, the Nancy Greene Recreation Area is a busy destination year-round because of the many summer hiking trails and winter cross country ski trails located in the park.
