Rossland, BC, Canada is a year-round tourism and adventure destination located on the lower slopes of the Rossland Range which is a sub range of the Monashee Mountains. The alpine community is situated just north of the Canada/USA Border in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. Rossland, B.C. is best known for its mountain biking in the summer and ski adventures during the winter. Some of the other summer activities enjoyed in the region include golfing, hiking, horseback riding, backpacking, sightseeing, canoeing, fishing, off roading and camping. During the winter months the ski adventures enjoyed in the area include downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, cat skiing, heli skiing, ice fishing, dog sledding & snowmobiling. Red Mountain is the ski and snowboard destination in Rossland. Rossland enjoys many services important to travelers. Many of the stores and shops operate from heritage buildings dating back to the early Gold Rush Days. In total there are 29 heritage buildings from the 1900s including the Bank of Montreal building (1900), Rossland Grocery (1897) and Courthouse (1901). Some of the services and amenities important to travelers located in the community of Rossland, British Columbia, Canada include accommodations, restaurants, pubs, post office, internet, tours, guides, retail stores, grocery store, gas station, art studios and banks. Big box stores are located minutes away in the community of Trail. Mountain biking is big in Rossland - there are over 150+ kilometres of good downhill and technical mountain biking trails to explore. Two of the best long haul mountain biking trails are located nearby on the Cascade Highway - the Seven Summit Trail and the Dewdney Trail. Some of the more popular park and green space destinations in the region to visit include Nancy Greene Provincial Park located north of Rossland, BC and the Champion Lakes Provincial Park located northeast of Rossland. |
