Vancouver, B.C., Canada: From Vancouver, BC travel along Hwy #1 to the highway junction in the community of Hope, B.C. At the highway junction there are three highway routes leading into the interior of BC. Hwy #3, Hwy #97 and Hwy #5. Best route involves traveling north from Hope on Highway #5 to Kamloops. From Kamloops travel Hwy #1 east to Shuswap Lake and then to Revelstoke. From Revelstoke travel south on Highway 23 to the Shelter Bay-Galena Bay ferry which crosses Upper Arrow Lake. From Galena Bay travel south on Highway 23 to Nakusp, BC.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada: Travel Hwy #1 Hwy west to Banff National Park and then continue to the provincial border of British Columbia. Continue driving west on Hwy #1 to the community of Golden, BC and then to the Glacier National Park and then eventually ending up in Revelstoke, BC. From Revelstoke travel south on Highway 23 to the Shelter Bay-Galena Bay ferry which crosses Upper Arrow Lake. From Galena Bay travel south on Highway 23 to Nakusp, BC.

In Yahk travel west on Highway #3 to Creston and then north to Balfour and the lake ferry. From Balfour travel north on Highway #31 to Kaslo. Highway #31A continues to New Denver where you jump onto Highway 6 which takes you to Nakusp.
