Panorama
Mountain is a year round
resort destination located southwest of the community of
Invermere, BC in the Columbia Valley of British Columbia,
Canada. Panorama is a fully serviced mountain resort popular
for mountain biking & hiking in the summer months and
skiing and snowboarding in the winter months.
During the winter months,
after the snow has fallen, other activities enjoyed on the
resort mountain include dog sledding. nordic skiing, alpine
cross country skiing, heli skiing, snowmobile, sleigh rides,
night skiing and showshoeing. There is a adventure booking
office on the mountain for many activities in the Invermere
area.
The mountain ski resort in
the winter enjoys a vertical of 1220 metres attracting skiers
and snowboarders to the area. The mountain resort terrain
covers 2847 acres and includes alpine bowls, 120 ski runs
and two snowboard terrain parks. .
The ski runs on the mountain
cater to all skiers and boarders of all skill levels. On
the mountain 20% of the ski runs are designed for beginners,
55% for intermediate, 25% for expert. Some of the runs on
the mountain include the Stump Farm, Little Dipper, Cliff
Glade, Hoggsflats, Horseshoe, Taynton Trail, Ostrander,
Rollercoaster, Old Timer, Fritz's Gunbarrel, Elmo, devil's
Drop, Champagne Surf and the Orca. The Never Never Land
run is the longest run measuring at 5.5 kilometres.
The ski runs and snow activities
are serviced by 9 lifts on the mountain including 1 Village
Gondola, 2 Express Quad Chairs, 1 Quad Chair, 1 Triple Chair,
1 Double Chair, 1 Platter, 2 Carpet lifts.
In the summer months Panorama
Mountain is an extreme mountain biking destination in the
Kootenays. The resort is a popular mountain biking destination
for the Columbia Valley. The mountain trails are serviced
by a gondola fitted for mountain bikes. The trails include
some high skill level downhill routes as well as some trick
routes with some good air.
Other summer activities enjoyed
on the mountain during the summer months include golfing,
sightseeing, horseback riding, wildlife viewing and hiking.
Trails on the mountain worth exploring include the Cox Creek,
Hopeful Creek and Taynton Creek Trails.
The Panorama Village and the
Greywolf Nordic Centre are both located at the base of the
mountain. Services on the mountain include many accommodations
and a few restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, corner
stores, pubs, deli, a child care centre, rental shops and
lessons.

How
to Get to Panorama Mountain:
Travel towards the community
of Invermere, BC, Canada on Hwy 93/95. Take the Invermere
access road into town. Turn west at the Invermere Access
Road into the town and continue through the community. Follow
signs and take a right at Panorama Drive. Continue 18 kilometres
to the mountain.
