Golfing in the Kootenays EH

Golf Courses in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada are situated in mountain valleys, near rivers and lakes and up in alpine meadows. They are scenic and easy to locate as every community, pretty much, has a golf course and in some cases many golf courses. The degree of golf course varies from corporate high end 18-hole golfing resorts to privately owned 9-hole golfing attractions.

Because of the high number of golf courses in the Kootenays there are many areas in the region where the golf courses are located in bunches. In certain sections of the Kootenays there are numerous communities located very close to each other making it easy to golf numerous different golf courses in numerous different communities in one day.

There are both 9 hole and 18 hole golf courses located throughout the Kootenays open to the public. Some of the courses are high end golf resorts with restaurants, elaborate clubhouses, accommodations, rentals, gift shops, conference facilites and/or hot springs. Other golf courses keep it simple with a clubhouse and a coffee shop with allot of the focus put on the greens and fairways.

Most golf courses in the Kootenay region have a club house and pro shop staffed by local golf pros. They provide golf lessons, merchandise and golf equipment. It is also in the pro shops where tee times are booked and golf carts and golf clubs can be rented. It is always wise to book tee times well in advanced. Golf fees vary per golf course.

In many areas the golf course opens as soon as the winter weather is over making some seasons long and some seasons short.
