Lockhart Beach Provincial Park is a small recreation destination park located north of the community of Creston, BC which is in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada.
The provincial park is a campground and day use park situated on the shores of Kootenay Lake. Both campground and day use park are small in size and big in popularity.
Lockhart Beach Provincial Park is situated on the east side of Kootenay Lake. It is the only campground available for public use that is located on the south arm of the lake.
The campsites in the Lockhart Beach Provincial Park campground include picnic tables and fire pits. Pit toilets are nearby. It is important to note that the park is a paying campground. Book a campsite prior to your arrival to avoid disappointment.
Both the campground and day use area are located close to a gravel, sandy beach on Kootenay Lake. The beach is a popular gathering spot for campers and visitors when visiting the park. Swimming, suntanning and canoeing are popular at the beach.
The Day Use Area includes grass lawns, picnic tables and pit toilets. There is no boat launch or sani station. The Day Use parking lot is very small with a capacity of only 12 vehicles. If coming to visit the park for a day than make sure to arrive early for a parking spot.
The 3 hectare park is a popular destination in the summer months for canoeing, swimming, fishing, sunbathing, picnicking, camping and mountain biking. The beach is ideal for watching water activities like water skiing, sailing and boating.
How to Get to Lockhart Beach Provincial Park.
Travel to the community of Creston, BC. When in Creston turn onto Highway #3a and drive north. Continue driving on Hwy #3a for 40 kilometres. The park sign is on your left. |
